Allied Design

The design process commenced with a thorough review of the Urban Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) mandated by the Government of Maharashtra. This initial step involved familiarizing myself with the essential guidelines, limitations, and parameters crucial for designing buildings. It included understanding the city's Development Plan (DP), along with specific dimensions for key components such as bathrooms, bedrooms, and other essential spaces. The UDCPR served as a comprehensive rulebook, outlining mandatory regulations essential for adherence throughout the design process. With continuous reference to these regulations, I began developing the floor plan for a redevelopment project. This phase provided insights into critical requirements such as minimum widths for lobbies, staircases, lifts, fire exits, electrical systems, and ventilation ducts. Understanding and implementing these specifications are vital for ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of the building design.
